Kate has played at every major club in Australia –Home, gathering a devoted fan base on the way. Her residency at Sublime (Home Nightclub) helped earn the club ‘Best Club in Australia’ at the National Dance Music Awards four years running.

Kate Monroe’s name has been synonymous with big parties – Mardi Gras, Sleaze Ball, Ministry Of Sound, Harbour Party, and Field Day – not to mention offshore gigs in Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Kuala Lumpur, and the US, including a set at the legendary Winter Party in Miami.

Kate’s current residencies include Cruise Bar, The Beresford Hotel Upstairs , Greenpark, The Balmain, and The Swanson, where she programs all the music content and DJ selection.

She has been a contributor to the ARIA Dance Chart for nearly 15 years, helping inform the ears of the Australian public to the newest sounds from around the globe.  Her musical knowledge is staggering.

Kate has released three full length CD mixes on her own Mat Recordings label, Mat Black, Mat White and Mat Clear, all of which featured the very best selections of current house.

Kate’s newest project, SOUND VISION by Kate Monroe, is a boutique music service that provides consultation on music within a venue to reinforce and optimize the atmosphere, reinforce the brand and drive beverage or food sales. She currently advises for The Chiswick, Charing Cross Hotel, Swanson Hotel & the Greenwood Hotel.

Kate’s international reputation means she is called upon to support international DJ legends touring Australia, including Sandy Rivera, Frankie Knuckles, Derrick Carter, Bob Sinclar, Manny Lehman, Masters at Work, Jose Padilla, Victor Calderone, CJ Bolland, Erick Morillo and The Groove Junkies. Kate is as much a natural in front of a microphone as she is behind the decks, with stints as a guest presenter on Australian national broadcaster Triple J, Channel V, The Joint, and Alchemy on SBS. She worked with SBS to provide Latin based music for the World Cup. Kate’s sound has been featured on multiple compilations for SONY, Shock, and a suite of independent labels.

‘I love the challenge of a new dance floor’

Kate’s personality and professionalism ensure that she is entrusted with some of the biggest celebrations in Australian history, including the Sydney Olympics Closing Ceremony in front of 60,000 people. She’s been handed the reins of the Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Eve Party at Sydney Opera House for seven years running. Kate was behind the decks at Astral Bar for the launch of Seal’s Soul album. She’s filled floors at some of the country’s coolest corporate gigs, including the Cartier “Love” Campaign, the opening of the first MAC store in Sydney, product launches for Estee Lauder, L’Oreal, and Harley Davidson, and is the go-to DJ for all Australian Film Industry (AFI) and Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts (AACTA) awards nights. Always behind a good cause, Kate performs each year pro bono at gigs like the Camp Quality Supper Club in conjunction with Chandon in Melbourne and Sydney.

Wherever she lands, Kate is famous for turning up the vibe, transforming an ordinary room into an unforgettable space.
