Lauren Neko transforms as an artist to entertain her audiences. She takes them on a feel-good journey to remind them to feel the joy in life, and to give them inspiration and courage to be themselves.

Projects as an artist include the UV Branded LIVE/Sound System Act – ‘LUV’D UP.’ One half of the live duo ‘DISCO BUNNIEZ.’

As an ARIA Club Chart DJ, she is no stranger to clubs, bars, and festival events. Lauren incorporates live vocals, instrumental and groove-driving elements into her performances. Be it an intimate bar set, a harbour-side concert, a vocal-rooftop Sunday session, or the full-blown DJ-band experience – Lauren Neko will always find a way to bring unity and vibrancy to any environment.

Inspired mostly by 90s rave and house with its disco and soul laden vocals, Lauren selects both timeless and contemporary tracks to move people, spark curiosity, indulge in one’s own self, and evoke the nostalgia everyone craves.

Lauren fell in love with dance music when attending an old school 90’s House Anthems party in 2004 at the humble party at the ‘Top of the Ark’ in Adelaide. This pivotal moment came after a near-death experience and a long recovery from being hit by a car earlier that year. This was the first time since then that she had felt real happiness, and was core to keeping her spirit up during her recovery, and beyond in life.

Lauren fell in love with not just the music, but the feeling. The culture of Peace LUV Unity and Respect. It was a place where she could express herself in full colour – and so could everyone else. Rediscovering late-80s-early-90s dance classics; House in all its soulful, funky, acid, deep, rave, and broken-beat facets; was truly inspirational. This was the gateway to now more than a decade-long dance-music-vocation, spanning across three continents.

As the career vocalist who journeyed through many genres of music as a performer, producer, and topline writer. Her original works center around themes of LUV – of all kinds, the journey of self-actualization, and her lived experience through the spectrum of pain and thrills of being a woman. As a young artist, Lauren had to ride the coattails of whichever DJ she was second to. Since 2014 Lauren jumped into DJing to cement her own sound and to take her audiences on the same feel-good journey she always chases as a listener.

The downturn of 2020 saw the birth of Glössy HQ – a custom-created pastel and neon home-studio. This became the weekly home of her LIVESTREAM series ‘Our House with LUV.’ Post lockdowns, Lauren is now a regular host on Bondi Beach Radio at the prime time of 8-10 pm with the show Fabulous Fridays. 2021 will see the release of Lauren Neko’s original tracks featuring her original vocals, live instrumental artists, and her own production work.

Be it her original music, carefully selected tracks, live recreations of dance floor classics, or the timeless vocals she sings live through her sets – you will always feel the grit and soul of that pinnacle decade of dance. Whilst House music is her domain, ultimately hot grooves and banging vocals will drive her sets, regardless of BPM or genre. She is partial playing to all forms of House, Disco, Garage, Electronica, Funk, Soul, and almost anything else that moves.
