Saphia has been playing drums since the age of 16, where she first picked up the passion while attended the prestigious St.Andrew’s Cathedral School in Sydney on a Music Scholarship. She was a representative of the school’s Orchestra and Jazz Band, travelling interstate for competitions and performances.

She also trained at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Open Academy which she attended as part of the Jazz Performance Ensemble.

Saphia has travelled worldwide and been able to take her passion of drumming with her. While in Hawaii, she had the rare honour of performing in the Honolulu Festival, opening for the Soul Oasis store and drumming alongside Hawaiian acts in the Waikiki Street Festival. Saphia has also performed in the U.S. where she was invited to drum at the Venice Beach Bistro and Art Of Venice in California.

You might have also seen Saphia drumming locally in Sydney at such venues as the Friend in Hand in Glebe and the Captain Cook Hotel.

Saphia’s flair for rhythm has not only been displayed in her drumming, but also demonstrated while dancing as part of Australia’s premier Polynesian dance troupe “Pasifika Sway”, which saw her invited to dance at festivals around Australia and the iconic Pasifika Festival in New Zealand.

Saphia has the soul, passion and rhythmic timing that makes her the successful and talented drummer she is.
